Duck down in Ivybridge

a lone dead duck, found by a passer-by, who reported it to whoever. He was told to just bury it - as it was harmless. Eh? How did they know - nobody even bothered to look at it! The powers that be (ie the police etc) have said that nobody needs to report just one dead bird - only suspiciously high numbers of dead birds. In clumps, one presumes? So the birdies get sick and all die together and fall in the same spot? That would be suspicious! How many dead ducks were there in France? How many dead swans in Poland? Complacency, bone idleness and more than a touch of arrogance. The public are in good hands ....
